It was either “artist” or “doctor” up until about mid-college for me. I chose both, but realized I would probably only get paid for the doctor part. I’ve never heard of a starving doctor before.
I’ve been doing this since online journal thing (i.e, blog) since 1997. I enjoy the self-expression, the honesty, the self-mocking sexism, and the stupid occasional laugh I only get from this aspect of my life. While certain details will have changed to protect the innocent and not so innocent, my feelings expressed are genuine, whether naughty or nice. That is why I started and why I still do this.
The Medea in my site’s title is Medea Sin, a character I created to represent (as well as sound like) “medicine.” Many of the drawings in the galleries are anthropomorphizations of various medical terms, devices, or diseases. It’s my thing.
This site is the continuation of the online journal I started in 1997 while I was in my medical internship. The original site (on Geocities too) was named Medea’s Memoirs. Around 2000, I obtained my own domain, and renamed the site Medea Sin, which is here. In February 2007, I used WordPress to handle the boring part and I renamed the site Medea’s Memoirs again. Long URL names with easily misspelled words are a bad idea but oh well. Somewhere in there, the era of the non-commercial personal journal died.
Older entries will be at my Medea Sin site (except for the 1997 entries which are lost) until I upload them here.
