Thanks for the insight into ER issues. Now maybe that 4 hour wait in the ER waiting room while I was on my 3rd day of dysentery would make more sense.

Anyway, I found something that I think you might like: <a href="http://www.mcsweeneys.net/links/lists/28OliviaWalch.html" rel="nofollow">Jokes I Came Up With While Recovering From MRSA</a>

Sure, Scott, I just need the codes for your banking institution and account access -- along with your social security number and mother's maiden name -- and I'll send you your $140k in a jiffy.

Jeanetta, you feel my pain.

Bonnie, I can assure you they have not. I have issues with the triage system too, especially after taking Amy to the ER last month for severe abdominal pain and vomiting. It could have been any number of life threatening diagnoses and yet we were "triaged" by some guy who didn't even have a nursing degree. Turns out she just saw my high school yearbook picture.

Antoine, thanks for the interesting perspective. I'm so used to hearing (on the internet at least) how the USA has the worst health care system on Earth-1 AND Earth-2, your viewpoint is refreshing. I wasn't implying all administrators were power-hungry blood-suckers. Dr. Momm is a good example of the contrary (as Dr. Joychat was at my previous hospital). The three-hour wait time in the USA really is faster than usual, but 20 hrs for a ruptured appendicitis takes the cake. Congrats on your survival.

Mike, yes, large clots in the circulatory system are pretty much never a good thing. You are now a doctor. Please send $140,000 (reader's discount) to scott_to_trot@msn.com for your M.D. e-certificate. Paypal accepted.

Mditto, thanks for the comment. I think most docs and nurses would agree too. I was thinking of mailing him a copy of the pulmonologist's consult.
