Most of the trip looked like this. Most of Michigan does too.

We just got back from our trip to Michigan’s Adventure Park (it amuses me how their website almost looks like “misadventure.com”). It’s a newer, smaller, and cheaper version of Cedar Point in Ohio (the big Midwest park). I’m tired and burnt so less talk, more pictures.

My two cuties. Neither of them is allowed to look at other boys though.

The ladies in my life. Ladies with The Corean Fury, that is.

Sun Su behind the wheel.

Sun Su generally prefers driving games where you get to smash into things, but he was okay with this one too.

The 1950s style cafe.

Safari Sun Su and Calamity Ooseung.

A juke box. With vinyl 45’s that looked amazingly like CDs.

It looks like Ooseung is posing but I suspect she is really trying to pull this juke box down to her level.

Me and my Sun Su

This is more sun than I’ve seen in a year. I hope my DNA polymerase proteins can keep up with all the UV-damaged base pairs, especially in the oncogene segments. (Saying “I love my kids” seemed kind of redundant here.)

Aqua Girl

We probably spent most of our time at Amy’s favorite place, the pool. Ooseung here is telling all of you How It’s Gonna Be.

By the pool

I was amazed at all the people in bikinis by the pool. Could there possibly be this many Bikini Karate Babe cosplayers in Michigan?

Brother and sister.

I hope they always look out for each other.

Dinner at the hotel

The hotel restaurant was practically empty but at least I had a nice view.

The morning after.

When I set the camera’s timer for this shot, I didn’t realize (1) how ridiculous all of our hair looked this morning, and (2) how far askew the camera was pointing. Amy just happened to walk out of the bathroom that second (in her Hello Kitty pajamas of course).

Sun Su didn’t really like this ride.

My sweet little ones. Here today, soon to be grown up and gone tomorrow. The ride keeps going.

So sad to hear about Denver Doug, a fellow journaler and good soul, who died in hospice this week. He had sent me the nicest letter way back when Sun Su was born. A wonderful man.

Bonnie, get well soon. Give the doctors your two cents worth while you’re there. Heck, give them a whole dollar so it’s all spent before I see you back here. :-)
