HCG, that's an interesting way of explaining it to the kids.

Aande, you do have lovely kids.

Eric, I am almost over my cold. I occasionally cough up a lung but maybe that's the TB talkin'.

Having a cold this time of the year is the worst. When the sun is shining more and warmer than it has in months, one should not be blowing one's nose unless allergies are the cause.

Hi Scott. Hope you and Sun Su are feeling better. He is so cute.
My 2 boys are 1/2 Vietnamese and 1/2 Russian/Spanish/Jewish. I often wonder how they will or will not embrace their heritage. I am happy that there seem to be more and more children and families of mixed heritage now. It makes for a much more interesting world!

Late again to this as usual but something I tell my kid over and over again is that he's 100% Corean and 100% Chinese AND 100%...you get the idea. Because how can you qualify a fraction of a percentage as it relates to a person physically anyway? is being 1/4 an ethnicity equal to a leg or hand?

BB, thanks for the comments. I don't think I really wish for an ethnic identity anymore. I've sailed those waters and I've returned to my own shore. Whatever comes back or stays with me, I keep as treasure.

Jeanetta, WTF. You've been hiding your website from me all this time? You sneaky hillbilly. :-)

Bonnie, thanks. In two weeks, I find out if the patient's family, floor nurses, and myself have to go on TB meds for a year. *cough*

Cindy, thanks! Congrats again on your 2-book deal!!!

Jen, it's even worse considering Michigan only has 3 good months a year. Sun Su's better at least.

Rachel, so true. We either overcompensate or completely ignore that side sometimes. If you wear a kilt though, post a video please.
