Being half Chinese has been trying in that regard - you're never entirely one thing, which can make you proud and more interested in your culture(s) than some 100% ethnic individuals might be, but there seems to be a tendency for them to not accept a mixed background person as easily. It can be rather isolating at times, but very rich in other ways. I hope you and your son are already feeling better. Dad claimed some American Indian like everybody else around here does, but he couldve been a bit more serious considering how far out in the middle of nowhere he lived when he was a kid. Other than that, I have no idea what ethnicity to claim and have no real ideas about my ancestors at all. I tried to get Dad interested in a family tree (and wish Id tried Mom instead before she died.. my bad) and all he ever said was "bah..
