This week I finally decided to make the move to a new URL (this one), not so much for privacy reasons, but rather to make updating a lot easier for me. Wrestling with Netscape Composer, changing links, and FTPing everything was a big reason I’ve updated less in past years.
I have a page or two I want to add here yet, but I think the design is pretty much done. I really like the automatic thumbnails in the gallery section. I didn’t realize how many drawings I had up there (and a few I forgot to put up in the Galleries before like – Lana’s, Key’s, and Soo’s portraits – shame on me!). They’re not all “portfolio material” but they’re there for personal/historical purposes, which is the point of the whole journal I guess.
Contrary to my usual M.O., I may try out the comments thing. For now, comments will have to be pre-approved with a low tolerance for deletion or responding in private. I’m just not interested in arguing with trolls. Plus being a doctor on the web is an easy target for anyone whose cold didn’t resolve after taking a week of antibiotics (antibiotics don’t treat most viruses) or whose trip to the hospital wasn’t exactly a Disneyland vacation (it never is). Not to mention the occasional zealot still trying to argue with me about the C-spelling of Corea (my heart will always spell it that way).
Hmm. I actually wrote this for my notify list but I guess I could just make this my first official entry. (Email me at scott_to_trot@msn.com if you want to be on the notify list, or I guess you could use the RSS feed thing if you’re hip like that.)
Strong work!
I am looking forward to entries that take five minutes of thought and one minute to post.
I guess it was time to enter the 21st century.
